JULY 05: WISE OLD MOON
Wise Old Moon is a touring rock band from Hartford, CT led by singer-songwriter Connor Zane Millican. Before recording two full-length albums with Wise Old Moon, Millican left home at a young age to travel the expansive American West, writing songs and recording acoustic demos along the way. Upon his return to New England, Millican set out to form a band that would pay homage to the long-standing tradition of roots and Americana music he came to admire in his travels. Wise Old Moon’s music breathes new life into a blend of genres with a high-octane live energy and a distinctive brand of songwriting inspired by Millican’s experiences coming of age on the road.
Since 2013 Wise Old Moon has evolved to its current line-up of Ian Meadows (The Meadows Brothers) on electric guitar, drummer Stephen Cusano (Broca’s Area) and bass player Greg Lake (Johnny Pants).
Wise Old Moon will release their new EP, Factory Town, in May 2018.
The Summer Concerts on the Square are made possible with the generous support of The Oaks on the Square, UConn Summer & Winter Programs, Amazon@Storrs, Barnes & Noble UConn, Mooyah, National Institute of Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine (NICABM), and Storrs Center Retail.
