Renowned for its "exceptional virtuosity [and] imaginative interpretation" (The Washington Post), the Parker Quartet has appeared internationally at some of the world's most illustrious venues since the group's founding in 2002. Founded and based in Boston, the Quartet is currently on faculty at Harvard University as the Department of Music's Blodgett Artists-in-Residence, as well as in-residence at the University of South Carolina School of Music. Parker Quartet recently recorded Dvorak's Viola Quintet and Kurtag's Six Moments Musicaux and Officium breve in memoriam for ECM Records, and their 2011 Naxos recording of Gyorgy Liegeti's complete works for string quartet earned them the 2011 Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music Performance, of which they are the last string quartet to win in this category.

The Lenard Midsummer Music Chamber Series is made possible through the generosity of longtime patrons and Jorgensen CoStars Jean and John Lenard. Thanks to the Lenard Endowment, UConn students, non-UConn students, and youth under 18 are invited to attend all chamber events for free, including these. See Jorgensen’s DISCOUNTS page for more information.
