UConn Festival Chorus concert
Performance by the UConn Festival Chorus
FESTIVAL CHORUS
This vocal ensemble is a large mixed choir comprised of UConn faculty, staff, and students as well as members of the Greater Storrs Community. The Festival Chorus rehearses once per week on Monday evenings – 7:00-9:00pm. This ensemble provides singers with the opportunity to be part of an outstanding community organization and to express themselves through the art of joyous choral singing. The Festival Chorus typically collaborates annually with the UConn Concert Choir and Symphony Orchestra in performances of choral/orchestral masterworks. Recent performances included: Beethoven’s Symphony #9, The Brahms A German Requiem, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, and Dan Forrest’s Requiem for the Living. Some experience singing in a choir and music sight-reading is recommended but all interested singers are welcome and encouraged to be part of this outstanding choral organization.
