In 2001, the Town of Mansfield and UConn formed the Mansfield Downtown Partnership, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, to oversee the redevelopment efforts in Downtown Storrs. In addition to matching contributions from the Town and UConn, the Partnership is financially supported by generous individuals and businesses. “Membership” is open to individuals who reside in the Town of Mansfield, pay taxes to the Town of Mansfield, own or operate a business in the Town of Mansfield, own residential or business property in the Town of Mansfield, are an employee of a Mansfield-located business, or are affiliated with the University of Connecticut as a student, alumnus, or faculty/staff (current or former). Supporters who do not meet these criteria may join as friends but do not have voting or office privileges.
